The Buffet Specialist -- Chinatown

The newly renovated Chinatown on Banawe St. had invitingly playful colors of red, green and blue. We were really excited to try it out since we've been planning to go since last year. Fortunately, we got to eat there when it's fully renovated after the damage done of typhoon Ondoy.

The buffet was on the 2nd floor so we took the elevator up since my friend had Jones' fracture on her left foot which didn't stop her from walking around the buffet table. Heehee! Look at their pretty fun wall!

This is the 2nd floor. It looks empty but actually, we were early. It was surprising to see so many people eating here on a lunch hour and a weekday lunch at that. This gets jam-packed after a few minutes the buffet opens (11am to 2pm for lunch).

Here's a sample of the buffet spread. They have at least 7 stations or tables filled with food. No wonder they really are the buffet specialist!

Makes your mouth water, right?

Here's my plate # 1: (yang chow, beef in oyster sauce, fish with tofu, salt and pepper fish fillet, patatim and chopsuey)

My friend's plate # 1:

My 2nd: (Still had rice but this one's garlic rice. Yummy! I had garlic rice, steamed lapu lapu, sweet and sour pork, chicken and pork wanton)

This is my plate # 3: (lots and lots of garlic crabs! Fried fish fillet with sweet and sour sauce and peking duck wrapped in lumpia wrapper)

My friend's plate # 3: (we can't get enough of the garlic crab!)

Surprisingly, here's my plate # 4: (cuttlefish in sweet and spicy sauce, 3-layer egg, century egg, some vegetables, seaweed, soy beancurd and the yummy fried meat bun)

Just a close up shot. Love the bun, love the eggs!

Time for dessert! They have chocolate and vanilla ice cream with various sprinkles. Very disappointing since it doesn't taste anything like ice cream, more like shaved ice.

Their halo halo: (full to the brim! They need to get bigger glasses!)

Last dessert plate: (buchi, leche flan and orange gelatin)

The buffet was fantastic! And not so bad at a price of 388 pesos (they give discounts on weekdays). Chinatown, we'll be back! =)
